This photoshopping trend “Sad Keanu” was first began in June 2010 when a Splash News photographer Ron Asadorian captured a photograph of the well-known Canadian American actor Keanu Reeves eating a sandwich on a New York park bench.

A Reddit user rockon4life45 share an image on June 3rd, 2010 entitled “Keanu. More sadness in comments.” The thread quickly made it to the front page of reddit, gathering thousands of page views. Since then the image was isolated from the original and reimagined into various scenes all over the internet. Recently life-like 3D-printing story “Me and Sad Keanu” creating buzz all around.
