Vibrant And Colorful Rock Formations In China'S Danxia Landform Geological Park
Believe it or not, but these stunning rainbow-colored rock
formations are actually real and exists in Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological
Park, in China. These unusual, vibrant and colorful rocks are the results of red
sandstone and other minerals pressed together over 24 million years because of tectonic
plate movements.
Thousands years of rain and wind have shaped the rocks into magnificent
technicolor range and at first glance it seems like a beautiful geological
"layer cake". This wonderful
region near the city of Zhangye has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site
in 2010 and declared a national geological park in 2011.
